Recently, Hunter College announced a bold new vision for a collaborative research environment that builds on existing strengths and synergizes multiple, previously distinct research labs and centers, including much of the work previously being conducted at CHEST. The new Promoting Resilience, Intersectionality, Diversity, and Equity (PRIDE) in Health Research Consortium supports research at the nexus of psychology, public health, and the health and helping professions that is relevant to understanding and addressing the health needs of diverse sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities and the intersection of sexuality and gender with health. The explicit focus of Hunter College’s PRIDE Health Research Consortium is to serve as a hub bringing together the collective knowledge of researchers, community organizations, practitioners, policymakers, and members of the community.
